Job Title: Field Hardware Engineer

Location: India

Nature: Full-time, 1 position

Role Purpose: To support the deployment and upkeep of IoT-enabled surveillance and communication systems in remote environments, ensuring reliable performance under field conditions.

Scope of Work:

  • Support installation and commissioning of surveillance and IoT systems (thermal cameras, CCTV, sensors)
  • Assist in the deployment of communication networks (LoRaWAN, MESH, Radio Frequency (RF), satellite) in low-connectivity areas
  • Set up and maintain off-grid power systems (solar, battery solutions)
  • Carry out site surveys and basic RF assessments to support coverage planning
  • Apply equipment protection and ruggedisation measures for field conditions
  • Configure and connect field devices with gateways and central platforms
  • Perform routine maintenance, basic troubleshooting, and field repairs
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors during installation and servicing
  • Support procurement activities through technical inputs
  • Liaise with internal teams and field stakeholders for smooth execution
  • Maintain deployment records and field documentation

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree/Diploma in Electronics, Telecommunications, or Instrumentation Engineering
  • 3-5 years of experience in telecom, surveillance, or IoT field deployments
  • Experience in forest, rural, or low-resource deployments
  • Familiarity with GIS or remote monitoring platforms
  • Hands-on exposure to installation and troubleshooting of field systems
  • Experience working with government or field agencies

Technical Competencies

  • Working knowledge of RF and IP networks (TCP/IP, RTSP)
  • Familiarity with LoRaWAN, mesh, or similar IoT communication systems
  • Understanding of surveillance systems (IP/Analogue cameras, PTZ)
  • Exposure to hardware-software integration and edge devices
  • Basic knowledge of solar and battery-based power systems
  • Ability to use field tools and diagnostic equipment

  • Ability to work independently in remote locations
  • Good coordination and communication skills

Language Skills: English, Hindi, Malayalam (desirable)
